German Forced Labour Compensation Programme (GFLCP)

As one of the partner organizations of the Foundation "Remembrance, Responsibility and Future," IOM was designated to make financial compensation available to former forced labourers and other victims of the Nazi regime. Upon the expiration of the filing deadline on 31 December 2001, IOM received more than 308,000 claims for slave labour, forced labour, personal injury or death of a child and more than 48,000 claims for property loss.

Humanitarian and Social Programmes (HSP)

IOM has been designated under the Holocaust Victim Assets Litigation (Swiss Banks) to administer humanitarian assistance for needy, elderly survivors of Nazi persecution who were persecuted by the Nazi regime because they were or were believed to be Roma, Jehovah's Witness, physically or mentally disabled or homosexual. The Swiss Banks Settlement Agreement allocates US$20.5 million for these humanitarian programmes.

Under the German Foundation Act, DM 24 million have been allocated for social programmes for the benefit of Sinti and Roma who were victims of National Socialist injustice in accordance with the German Forced Labour Compensation Programme (GFLCP).
