Summary

In this project IOM and UNHCR will jointly facilitate, in close cooperation with partners in Estonia, the provision of technical assistance and capacity building for Estonian officials in order for Estonia to meet the requirements of the “Providing International Protection to Aliens Act (726 SE), which seeks to harmonize Estonian law with the European Union Council Directives on temporary protection, reception, and qualification of asylum seekers. Project activities will include technical assistance on the implementation of a national crisis plan for mass influx, training and awareness raising on the labour market integration of asylum seekers, and capacity building for border guards and other relevant officials and agencies on the new asylum regime.
