IOM Helsinki and the Swedish Migration Board (“Migrationsverket”), in cooperation with the IOM office in Kabul, Afghanistan, are offering an information service to prepare Afghans who want to return voluntarily from Sweden to Afghanistan.
A telephone helpline situated at IOM Helsinki provides information on voluntary return and reintegration assistance, and other services available to voluntary returnees from Sweden to Afghanistan. All persons who want to know more about reintegration assistance offered by IOM in Afghanistan can call the new Helpline. The IOM Helsinki Afghan Helpline answers in Dari, Pashto, and English. As of February 2010 it is free to call the Helpline on the Swedish number 020 170 1955. Calls are not charged to the caller's phone but to IOM.
