Training of Border Guards, Border Police, and Customs Officials in Identifying of and Providing Assi Print
Summary

This project, managed by IOM Brussels, reinforced co-operation between border guards, border police, security police customs officials and Immigration Liaison Officials (ILOs) and improved the implementation of international and European standards with regard to screening, identifying and protecting victims of trafficking and smuggling. The training helped border guards, border police and customs officials to distinguish victims of trafficking and smuggling from illegal migrants and ensure their appropriate treatment. This was carried out through the organization of training courses, which included the exchange of best practices and case studies and analyses of the role of border guards and border police.
