Summary

This project involved collecting information about the pool of skilled and/or highly skilled qualified Somaliland nationals residing in the Nordic countries into a 'skills databank'. A closing seminar entitled ‘Nordic Seminar on Skills Profiling and Transfer to Somaliland’ was organized in Helsinki on 5 June 2001, and attended by 78 participants. The seminar was attended by relevant authorities, experts, and representatives from NGOs and members of the Somaliland community, as well as distinguished Somaliland officials. The objective was to disseminate the results of project, discuss possible future projects, legal consequences of return and to further consolidate the skills databank.
