IOM Tbilisi Information Campaign 'You are not for Sale!' warns potential migrants about the risks and consequences of trafficking in persons

Summary

The project aims at continuing to contribute to the efforts of the Government of Georgia and non-governmental organizations to counter trafficking in persons by raising public awareness through information dissemination to potential victims of trafficking in Georgia. The project is an extension of the two previous campaigns conducted by IOM in Georgia, which have been successful in terms of the audience reached through various information dissemination tools.

In response to the occurrence of HIV/AIDS and STI infections among Georgian and transit migrants, IOM has included a migration health component within its information dissemination campaign. Such efforts will positively influence the perceptions of the community about the risks and consequences of moving abroad without adequate information, which in its turn will contribute to the reduction of trafficking cases, irregular migration and spread of HIV/AIDS in, to, and through Georgia.
