IOM at World Village Festival 2017 (In English)

This year IOM Finland is teaming up with UN’s Development Programme UNDP for the annual World

Village Festival in Helsinki on May 27-28, 2017. We will be at the square beside the Central Railway station, in the Open Finland –tent.

This is the first year that IOM is a part of the United Nations - since September 2016 we are the UN Migration Agency.  Our theme this year is the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the follow-up to the largely successful Millennium Development Goals.

The Agenda 2030 is wide-ranging and ambitious, but we will be focusing on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – and what links them to migration. Migration is included for the first time in the global development framework.

Migration and development are closely linked and well-managed migration plays a big role in and gives an immense contribution to sustainable development.

Come and visit us! Learn more about the SDGs and migration, and participate in our competition>
